An RF downconverter, is an integrated assembly that converts a high-frequency RF signal to a lower frequency intermediate frequency (IF) signal. This process simplifies subsequent radio stages while preserving information within the frequency band of interest. The input and output signals can be real or complex samples. Typically, the downconverter converts from the raw radio frequency or intermediate frequency down to a complex baseband signal.
